The Trenner & Friedl ART is a classic stand mount loudspeaker design available in a variety of finishes.
One reviewer went as far as to say it was the one of the most desirable speakers of all time in this classification – regardless of price. High praise indeed, but when you see and hear the ART from the Austrian craftsmen at Trenner & Friedl you will perhaps find out why.
They are beautifully constructed and finished, and the design has changed very little in 30 years, which says everything about the quality of this loudspeaker.
The design is a two-way vented system housed in a multiplex birch wood chassis of varying densities with a seven layer lacquer finish. The front panel is a veneer of either ebony (effect) or bamboo at an additional cost (£120.00). Internal wiring and terminals are by Cardas and the handcrafted crossover includes high grade Mundorf components.
The drive units are a single five inch carbon cone, coated with violin varnish, and a single one inch ring radiator tweeter with a neodymium magnet system, encapsulated rear chamber and mounted heat sink.
Available cabinet finishes come in three options and price points. The price shown is for the Standard finish.
Standard: Natural Walnut, Amaranth Walnut.
Option 1: Snow white or night black. (plus £250.00)
Option 2: Zebra wood ECO or Palisander ECO (plus £500.00)
Alternatives and high gloss finishes are also available.
Bespoke stands in wood are a recommended option at £1150.00.
