There are probably as many cables companies as people on the planet – at least that’s how it may feel sometimes. Here is Luna Cables Grey and Orange
Over many years we have tried a fair few and they all have their particular benefits. However, we’ve found one or two that we like, and that work well with the components we sell. One of those brands is Luna Cables.
We met the Luna team at the 2019 Munich hifi show and, after listening to their design philosophy, it was clear that they would be a good match for our product range, and indeed our own thinking regarding system synergy.
Luna is an award-winning Canadian audio company with an eye on sustainability and boasts a wide range of high-end cables featuring custom-made Neo-Vintage conductors. Launched in 2015 Luna Cables has already made quite an impression on the hi-end audio stage, garnering several awards and praise from audiophile aficionados and musicians alike.
Due to the considerable amount of variations in length, we order when needed rather than keeping stock, although we do have some demo cables if you wish to try them first.

Luna are custom-made cables utilising Neo-Vintage (LCNV) tinned copper conductors that are made to unique specifications, manufactured in vintage braiding equipment that produces conductors just as they were made long ago, before the age of plastics. These LCNV conductors are used throughout the range from Grey to Black.
From dying the cotton sheaths, braiding the conductors, to assembling all the finishing touches, each cable is hand assembled to ensure the highest standard for quality performance.
Luna Grey cables are comprised of Luna Cables Neo-Vintage LCNV tinned copper conductors chosen for their performance and long-term durability. They use waxed cotton dielectric to control resonance in the cable. The outer cover is made of cotton for excellent flexibility and resonance minimising qualities.
Luna Grey cables offer a natural, transparent, and organic sound.
Luna Grey RCA and XLR interconnect cables (digital and analogue) are comprised of two 24 gauge signature LCNV waxed cotton tinned copper conductors. A braided tinned copper shielding is used to restrict electromagnetic and radio frequency interactions. Available with RCA, BNC, XLR, and DIN connectors. Available lengths 0.5/1.0/1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0m then at 1.0m increments.
Luna Grey speaker cable is comprised of two 14 gauge signature LCNV waxed cotton dielectric tinned copper conductors. This speaker cable is also an excellent choice for subwoofers and is available with banana, spade, or SpeakON connectors. Available lengths – 1.0/1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0/3.5/4.0/4.5/5.0m and then in 1.0m increments. Jumper cables (4 total per set) are also available with spade or banana connectors – 0.3m length.
Luna Grey USB cable is comprised of four 22 gauge signature LCNV waxed cotton dielectric tinned copper conductors. A braided tinned copper shielding is used to restrict electromagnetic and radio frequency interactions, protecting the fragile digital signal. Each conductor is soldered by hand for a better contact and performance. Available with A, B, and C type connectors. Available lengths – 1.0/1.5/2.0m.
Luna Grey digital RCA, BNC, and AES/EBU cables are comprised of two LCVN 24 gauge conductors. A braided tinned copper shielding is used to restrict electromagnetic and radio frequency interactions, protecting the fragile digital signal.
Luna Grey ethernet cable is comprised of 4 pair of 26 gauge copper conductors. The 4 twisted pairs are individually shielded with aluminium to restrict electromagnetic and radio frequency interactions, protecting the fragile digital signal. A supplemental layer of braided tinned copper is applied over the whole and covered with cotton.
Luna Grey AC power cable is comprised of three 16 gauge tin-plated copper conductors, chosen for their long-term electrical stability and sonic focus. The rubberised dielectric absorbs micro vibrations to control resonance while minimising electromagnetic interactions. Dielectric paper envelops a rubberised material chosen for its absorption qualities. A tinned copper braided shielding is also used to restrict electromagnetic and radio frequency interactions. The outer insulation is also rubberised. Cryogenically treated Wattgate connectors are used to ensure a reliable and secure connection. Schuko or USA NEMA available. Available lengths 1.0/1.5/2.0m then at 1.0m increments.
Luna Grey DC cable is comprised of two 24 gauge LCNV waxed cotton dielectric tinned copper conductors. A braided tinned copper shielding is used to restrict electromagnetic and radio frequency interactions. DC connection requirements to be specified at time of order. Available lengths – 0.5/1.0/1.5/2.0m.
Luna Grey ground cable is made from two 24 gauge LCNV waxed cotton dielectric tinned copper conductors that run straight from the connector to the headset, a design that optimises performance and increases durability by eliminating the need for a ‘Y’ joint. Available lengths – 1.5/2.0/2.5m and then in 1.0m increments.
Luna Orange are also comprised of Neo-Vintage (LCNV) tinned copper conductors although of a lower gauge. Again the outer cover is made of cotton for excellent flexibility and resonance minimising qualities.

Luna Orange speaker cable benefits from a more complex architecture compared to the Gris, with two hand-braided 18 gauge signature LCNV waxed cotton tinned copper conductors for a total of 15 gauge per polarity. This speaker cable is also an excellent choice for subwoofers and is available with banana, spade, and SpeakON connectors. Available lengths – 1.0/1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0/3.5/4.0/4.5/5.0m and then in 1.0m increments. Jumper cables (4 total per set) are also available with spade or banana connectors – 0.3m length.

Unlike other USB cables on the market, Luna Cable connectors are soldered by hand for a better contact and performance. Available with A, B, and C type connectors. Available lengths – 1.0/1.5/2.0m.

Unlike other ethernet cables on the market, top quality Telegartner connectors are soldered by hand for a better contact and performance. Available lengths – 1.0/1.5/2.0/2.5/3.0/3.5/4.0/4.5/5.0m and then in 1.0m increments.
