    Soundgenic Network Audio Server

The Soundgenic server is a network audio device with both media server and USB-DAC player functionality.

It is equipped with similar technology from the renowned Fidata brand, just in a simpler and more cost effective form.

Not only is it very versatile as you can see from the infographics above it is also very well made.

The chassis interior utilizes 1.2 mm thick sheet metal that is 1.5 times that of the conventional thickness of 0.8 mm. It has a high-strength chassis that suppresses vibrations, and efficiently distributes heat throughout the entire chassis without a fan.

The underside is fitted with hemispherical rubber feet. By reducing the amount of direct contact with the surface they reduce the amount of outside vibration transmitted to the interior.

The hairline finish to the top plate adds the final touch to make this a very attractive device.

The Soundgenic is controlled by the free Fidata APP that provides a range of display and playback options resulting in a user friendly visual user interface. Compatibility is IOS, iPad IOS and Android.

The Soundgenic transport  supports most types of files available on the consumer market, including WAV, FLAC, AIFF, as well as dff and dsf. This includes PCM files up to 768 kHz and 32-bits, and DSD up to DSD256 (11.2896 MHz) in DoP mode and DSD512 (22.5 MHz) in Direct DSD mode. You can also connect to it an external HDD or SSD drive, USB sticks, or play files via an Ethernet connection from an external server.

Now with the latest Firmware you can stream music via Qobuz, Tidal and Spotify Connect.

    Options:

There are currently two options for capacity. A 4TB HDD or 2TB SSD

If like us you are advocates of Diretta software both Soundgenic models incorporate Diretta so that the device can act as a Diretta Host.

Included in the box are a standard power supply with fig.8 cable connection and UK/EU/USA power leads and DC connecting cable.

The Soundgenic runs on 12V 2A so there are numerous options for a linear power supply upgrade should you wish to incorporate one. You will need a DC adapter as the Soundgenic uses a specific Sony design connector.

For CD Ripping we recommend the Pioneer BDR-X12-EBK or similar model from Pioneer.
